Fire Department

The primary mission of the Fire Department is to protect life, property and the community from the destructive effects of fire, disasters or other life hazards by providing public education, incident prevention and emergency response services.

The Hope Fire Department is a professional firefighting department with an ISO Class 3 rating. HFD is staffed by sixteen paid firefighters, assisted by four volunteer firefighters.

HFD has two fire stations:

  • Station One: 308 East 2nd Street
  • Station Two: 1001 North Haze

Duties and Services:

  • Fire suppression
  • First responder - Emergency medical services
  • Vehicle extrication and basic response
  • Fire code enforcement
  • Disaster management and emergency operations
  • Public education through in-house and outreach programs
  • Fire cause and determination investigations

Todd Martin is the Fire Chief as of October 2020. Mr. Martin began his time with the City of Hope when he was hired as a firefighter in August of 1999.
